Discover Great Food in the Heart of Kent
Famous Sunday roasts, hearty British cooking, live music and sport.

Our Story
Nearly Four Centuries
on Old Road East
The story starts in 1633, with a coaching inn on the road to Rochester. Over the years it offered “good stabling”, then rooms for cyclists, and in 1835 it saw a prize fight that lasted over an hour.
In 1933 the old inn made way for the black-and-white building you see today. Under new owners it's a proper local again: famous Sunday roasts, live music and sport, and a kitchen led by Head Chef Dragos Ene.

We visited the Prince of Orange in Gravesend for Sunday roast and it was genuinely one of the best pub roasts we’ve had in a long time.
What can I say, a superb meal, porterhouse cooked to perfection, triple cooked chips with a twist best I’ve ever had…
The cheese dip with focaccia was absolutely lush, and the crispy chilli beef was definitely my favourite — so tasty and full of flavour!
We had my daughters 30th birthday party here in the function room… The buffet was also fab, would highly recommend.
My fiancé and I dined here for Valentine’s Day. The whole experience was outstanding!

As a solo regular on a Sunday for the Roast and footie, the service is effortless, the food is so scrummy (especially the roast potatoes!)
Great time with our booking of 16 for our Christmas meal tonight! Delicious roast, attentive but not overbearing staff and a homely atmosphere.
My Mum & Dad had their Diamond wedding anniversary party here… the hot/cold buffet was beautifully presented and so tasty!
Visited for the Sunday lunch. It was the best roast that I have had for a long while.
Lovely pub with a great atmosphere. Staff are always so welcoming, and will always make you feel comfortable.
